Welcome to the Samples Contractor, Inc. outreach program. Our goal is to work with you in establishing a surety program that will enable your firm to participate on the contracting opportunities that best suit your capabilities.
We accomplish this by providing you access to some online tools that can help you get information about your company to the surety professionals that can assist you, provide an ongoing communication capability and improve your access to liquidity to finance directives pending issuance of a change order.
CHICO Common Application
This online questionnaire is designed to gather all the information surety agents and markets will need to evaluate your company for surety credit. It is designed so:

The one application can be used by multiple underwriters so you don’t have to generate separate applications for each market.

The application printout can be modified so the information can be used for other purposes, like prequalification’s or to your bank, insurance carrier, etc.

The project pages section can be linked to your website for dual purpose.

Qualification Connection
Allows searching of Common Apps to find qualified contractors. Features include:

Searching by NAICS codes to find a contractor in the correct trade. EX: concrete, painting.

Searching by counties of operation.

Searching by Small Business Certifications. EX: SBE, DVBE.

Searching by the size of bond the contractor is able to secure.

Coming soon: Ability to search various small business databases provided by public agencies to provide expanded contractor search capabilities.
Bid List Connection
The online bid management application will:

Help you organize your upcoming bid schedule.

Provide a communication hub to your staff.

Communicate to your surety agent your upcoming bid bond needs, with a link back to the project webpage

We are working to have the data transferable to an electronic surety transaction provider to streamline issuance of the bid bond.
Project Status Connection
This online project monitoring service will allow your surety to monitor your progress on the project. This ability to provide a better underwriting environment for your surety will translate into a more flexible surety program for your company.
Surety Bridge Fund Connection
This option will allow you provide your lender with a priority interest in a future change order by assigning a directive, subject to consent by your surety. This improved lending position can be pivotal to your company securing the necessary funding to respond to a directive, and assist in the effort to convert the directive into a change order quickly.
SubInfo Connection
This searchable website allows you to tell us about your company by giving us access to the questionnaire that you completed, and you access to the download section of our bid list. You can also use this website to let others know about your company.
Instructions
For us to “connect” with you we need you to establish an account at the Surety Connection website. Once you have an account you will have access to all the tools and services they provide, including the ability to share and communicate with Samples Contractor, Inc..
Your completed questionnaire can be used by your surety agent to present your company to the surety markets. If your surety agents signs up for Surety Connection they will be able to use bid list as well, have access to your questionnaire and have use of Surety Submission Connection, an secure internet based solution to assist your broker in getting the submission to the surety markets.
The $20/month subscription to Surety Connection is paid through PayPal; however you may elect to have it subsidized for no cost to your company. Revenue from the subscriptions is shared with participating universities to underwrite the student’s efforts to develop the open standards necessary for communication systems to work.
Once you have the completed questionnaire and the requested attached your surety agent will be able to secure a surety program for you. As a bonded subcontractor you will have access to many opportunities and we look forward to working with you.
